During the second day of practice last August (2021), TJ was playing on left tackle on the offensive line for his high school’s football team. It was still no contact, so they were in shorts and helmets, so TJ didn’t feel the need to wear his brace that was given to him as part of his equipment. This proved to be a big mistake. A certain play was called, calling for TJ to pull down the line and lead block on to the defensive end. He anticipated the d-end to contain to the outside, but instead the d-end went to the inside. TJ stepped to correct his trajectory, unfortunately his 295 pound frame didn’t agree and tried to continue moving with his momentum. This resulted in a torn ACL and a slight tear in his meniscus.
TJ under went surgery in September and started physical therapy right away. At the end of March (2022), the doctor gave him clearance to start back slowly into sports, ultimately going 100% by mid June. His healing has been a head of schedule on it all and we thank God for the medical facilities here. TJ has since started competing in shot put for track and is almost where he left off with it last year.
Thank You to those who have been praying for T.J. Blessings!
